A New Beginning...

A New Beginning...

As many of you already know, Master Silversmith and Engraver, Greg Jensen, passed away in September 2016.  In addition to leaving behind his family and friends, the doors to Greg Jensen Originals creaked shut, with a future uncertain.

Now, in 2017, with the blessing of his wife, Carol Andrews, I am throwing open the doors of Greg Jensen Originals, and announcing we are open for business.

My name is Dan Hunter.  Greg took me on as an apprentice in 2011, and taught me everything I know about Silversmithing.  I had the benefit of over 25 years of Greg's personal experience.  Not only did Greg graciously and willingly pass on tips and tricks that took him years to discover and master, but also taught me how his equipment - much of it homemade - worked and why.  Greg also understood the balance between teaching and discovery, as I remember many times asking him, "How should I do this?"  Sometimes I would get an answer, but other times I would get a smirk with a reply, "Figure it out."  All of these moments, whether instructed or discovered, have led up to now, when I can confidently reopen the business and continue building on a lifetime's worth of work.

I invite everyone to reach out to me, whether you are a vendor, customer, or friend and share your photos, stories, or even a greeting - I'd love to hear from you.  Please also take the time to re-acquaint yourself with his designs, featured throughout the newly launched website.

"If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants." - Sir Isaac Newton

Thank you for your continued support and business,
Dan Hunter
